It is important to compare medicare
supplemental policies
because costs may vary from different providers. Our service allows you
to compare specific benefits so that you can make educated choices
about what medicare
supplements will best benefit your needs.
If you are married, you and your spouse will have to purchase seperate medicare supplements.
Your supplement will not cover the needs of your spouse.
Medigap
Insurance
A Medigap insurance policy, is a policy sold by an insurance company
that covers those health needs that medicare does not cover. There are
cases when, an insurance company must sell you a Medigap policy.
It is also important to know when to purchase your Medigap
policy. Genrally, it is best to purchase your policy within the six
months that you are both 65 or older and enrolled in
medicare.
When purchasing a Medigap
Policy,
you generally must have Medicare Part A and Part B. You will
need
to pay your Part B premium, as well as the premium on the Medigap
Policy.
There may be a waiting period for coverage of any pre-existing condition,
but your Medicare coverage should cover these conditions, even if your
medigap policy will not yet cover your out of pocket costs.
Waiting periods may be shortened if you have enrolled for a Medigap
Policy within the 6 month enrollement period, or if you have had creditable coverage
prior to appying for supplemental indurance.
